#BAUniC:movie:scene023 - Car trip

Car stops by Metabo retail shop.

2 yells from the back window: Clara! We're here!

C: 'n moment guys! (yelled back from a muffed, under-the-desk)

*hand reaching up, hitting spacebar, computer blows fast air, quiet again after 3-4 seconds, more fumbling under the desk, display off. Head from under the desk gets up, smashes a couple of keys, display still off, gets down, pulls cables, puts cables back, finger on the on-key for a force-shutdown, represented in sound, then a new press (same press sequence reverse pressed if not bothering with new source recordings), now it shows something, normal computer start. Clara stands, dusts herself, half yells: 'all good, fixed now' and is about to leave. Shop owner comes by, minimal body/face/hand showing, repeats 'all good? fixed now?'.

C: yeah, I don't think this situation will repeat, but the system is old and you should think about replacing it sooner rather than later.

Shopkeeper: What do you suggest?

C: Anything will do, at least anything that can handle the games your son plays on lazy mornings. (alternatively, if computer sponsor, replaced with suggestion in nerdy language).  It is the era of planned obsolesce embedded in the software, you need the equivalent of a supercomputer of a few years ago just to get on the internet. Or, the mobile phones of today.

S: I like something reliable.

C: Even the most  unreliable junk is pretty much reliable. You get more trouble by visiting some nefarious page.

S: Long lasting I mean.

C: Hehe, like the tools you sell in your shop. Great brand. Working, every time!

S: Yes... something that won't need to be changed in a few years.

S: I will send you a link... just pick one that fits in your budget, and you got the lasting computer.

S: Alright. Here, something for your trouble.

C: Can you clear up payment with the company? I don't handle coin exchange.

S: I know, but this is for you and your prompt and sincere response.

*Clara, perplexed, showed reaching over, but not showed taking the money. They shake hands, camera angles not containing any need for both actors to be on the same scene. Bye / bye. Clara leaves, gets in the car*

C: 'sup guys. (and regular 'hi'-s, 'sup'-s among friends)

2: Same shit, different day... well, except for the experiment today, that we hope is not the same shit.

C: Zeah came up with a new scheme to play around with realtime?

X from the front seat, turning: Actually is not Zee this time, though it looked like her style.

2: I got the update from Zeah too. She gave the final checkup. I am not sure she will be present, I did not see her workload scheduled on the cluster.

X: Z will be the other half of the test subject. I think this is an attempt at instalink.

C: I thought that could not be done?

Y from the driver seat, without looking: that depends on which school of accepted thought you subscribe to. It cannot be done in a frozen perfect fractal. It can be done if all maths is connected, even if we don't catch up all the connections, just enough of the diverging points to influence circuitry.

C: I see... Who is the initiator?

*X smiles but does not answer*

2: You will see, though it could have been anyone of us. I don't know why he wants to be a test subject himself, though.

X: We will be running in two completely separate networks. I think they will even put separate switches, though if the formulas are powerful enough to cause hardware glitches, they will be powerful enough to cause software ones and mitigating that in such rudimentary way is not going to change anything in the overall concept.

Y still looking at the road: That is almost for their own peace of mind, though I would have done the same in their shoes.

C: Do we need to be dedicated?

X: Initiators, yes, but we are on the verification group. Still, I got nothing better to do, just give them access to parts of my quantum processors *taps at his temple indicating his brain as quantum processor*

(scene may continue. Sponsor logos may appear on the outside of the car. Car type, undefined till we hear back from potentially interested parties)
